High Lifter introduces the patented Cab Saver system, produced by a division of Alcoa Aluminum. This system is designed to protect the cab, bed, and toolboxes, in a pickup truck used to haul an ATV.
When an ATV is transported in the bed of a pickup truck the obvious problem is the frequent collision between the ATV and the toolbox, bed, or cab rear glass. In fact, the ATV is often transported in contact with the cab, bed bulkhead, or toolbox, and leaves unsightly scratches and dents to rust and reduce the value of the vehicle.
The Cab Saver is constructed of 3”X ˝”aluminum that is bolted across the bed to rubber shock absorbing blocks, that fit in the front stake body holes that come standard in pickup beds. A vinyl strip is attached to the front edge of the Cab Saver to absorb even more shock and protect the bumper of your ATV. Upon impact, the aluminum bar flexes and the rubber blocks absorb shock loads so that the impact is cushioned. This system is not designed to protect against higher speed impacts and must be used with good judgment. If you have a toolbox installed the Cab Saver is installed by bolting immediately in rear of the toolbox.
Mounting hardware and rubber cushioning material is included in the kit. The aluminum crossbar is powder coated flat black to be consistent with other bed trim. The width is adjustable for various sizes of pickups and there are models for full size and compact size trucks. Installation requires a flat surface on top of the pickup bed wall.
